ILM flap transposition versus ILM Peeling for macular holes: a pilot study
Recently a new technique has come up, vitrectomy with ILM-flap transposition, offering better postoperative success rates. Up to now there are only existing prospective randomized studies comparing ILM flap transposition with conventional ILM peeling for macular holes with a diameter >400µm. Results for macular holes with a diameter >400µm significantly worse to those with a diameter <400µm. The aim of the study is to examine the effect of ILM flap transposition in macular holes with a diameter <400µm and to compare results to the results of conventional ILM peeling for macular holes.
