Cataract Online Refraction Evaluation: A Multi Center Randomized Controlled Trial (CORE-RCT)
The 2020 covid-19 crisis made us realize that access to hospital care is not always granted. Remote monitoring can be employed to maximize the efficiency of available resources. Such a remote monitoring platform could enable patients to self-monitor their postoperative cataract care and provide objective outcome parameters (e.g. visual acuity, PROMs). The aim of this study is to investigate the cost-effectiveness of remote monitoring after cataract surgery and to determine non-inferiority of the corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) as obtained with web-based refraction measurement compared to CDVA determined with manifest refraction.
