Role of postoperative lubrication in preventing dry eye after cataract surgery
Cataract and dry eye are two conditions occurring frequently in the elderly. Several reports suggested a deterioration of dry eye after cataract surgery, causing a significant impact on patients’ postoperative satisfaction as well as quality of life. The aim of this study is to compare the signs and symptoms of dry eye after cataract surgery between groups, patients with preoperatively high risk and low risk, and evaluate if adequate and frequently administered lubrication eye drops reduce the signs and symptoms of dry eye in patients with high risk compared to standard of care.
